28 and Counting....

In the last days of school, it's always tricky keeping kids engaging and having a clear purpose.  But, on the last day of school, we still see learning, whether it's piling 28 eight books atop a student-constructed bridge or applying our knowledge of core values in writing in yearbooks.  Check out how we "Fly Right" at TMS!

A Gallery Walk:  Students made bridges and evaluate whose will hold the most books
Still Stacking:  At last check, a student's bridge held 28 books - WOW!

And They're Down!

Signing Yearbooks - That's writing!
Evidence of Yesterday's Gallery Walk:  Students researched a historical topic and presented it to their classmates in a gallery walk.

Game Playing:  Getting kids thinking and developing language.

It's A Messy Job, But Somebody's Got To Do It!

It's the annual Egg Drop Day!  Walking through the halls, we see the designs:  bubble wrap, boxes, tissue paper, parachutes, and wings.  It's all in an effort to study aerodynamics and protect one fragile little egg!

Oh, the mess!  This year, that's mitigated with a tarp and eggs wrapped in plastic.

The Drop!  This one probably didn't make it....

Life After MAP

Yes, it's May.  Yes, testing is over!  Yes, classrooms are warmer (and more humid).  Yes, we are all starting the countdown to summer.  But....no, learning hasn't stopped.

In many schools, the sigh of relief is visable in a lack of learning in the remaining days and weeks of school, but not at Truman!  Your understanding that we have so many opportunities to provide students and your integrity to use that time well in these remaining weeks is a testament to how we "Fly Right!"
